Host a community event
STL Startup Week isn’t just ours — it’s yours. Community Events are your chance to create something impactful for local founders, creatives, technologists, and change-makers. Whether you’re planning a panel, a happy hour, a workshop, or something totally original, we’ll help spread the word and highlight your event as part of the official schedule.
What is a Community Event?
Community Events are independently organized programs that take place during STL Startup Week and are submitted for inclusion on our public schedule. These events are hosted by local founders, entrepreneur support organizations, businesses, creatives, and anyone who wants to contribute something meaningful to our entrepreneurial community. You'll design and run your event — we’ll help promote it to our audience.

Community Event Requirements
*For paid Community Events, we encourage offering sliding scale pricing or free admission options to ensure cost isn’t a barrier to participation.

How to Host a Community Event
- Design your event:
Choose your audience, topic, and format. Panels, workshops, meetups, performances — it’s all fair game. - Choose time & place:
Try to avoid overlapping with similar events or locations to maximize turnout. Check the event schedule for planning purposes. - Set up registration:
Use your preferred platform (e.g. Eventbrite, Luma). Include a clear description, schedule, and logistical info (parking, accessibility, etc.). - Submit your event:
Submit your Community Event here.
The deadline to submit Community Events for STLSW25 is Friday, Oct 24, 2025. - Promote your event:
We'll feature it on our schedule, but your success depends on your outreach! Use your networks, social media, and email lists to get the word out. - Represent STL Startup Week:
Mention STL Startup Week in your event title or description, and use the hashtag #STLStartupWeek in promotions. A sample description footer:
“This event is part of STL Startup Week — a community-driven celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation in St. Louis.” - Confirm your attendees:
Send reminder emails, track RSVPs, and prepare for no-shows (a 50% attrition rate is common for free events). - Capture and share content:
Take photos or videos and post on social with #STLStartupWeek. We may share it with our community!
